Hockey Nova Scotia is pleased to announce that the Metro West Female Hockey Association’s Peter Giles is the 2024 recipient of our Female Council Award of Merit.

Established in 2008, the Hockey Nova Scotia Female Council Award of Merit is presented annually to a deserving individual who has made a significant impact in promoting female hockey in Nova Scotia. Female Council accepts nominations from all areas of female hockey including players, coaches, administrators, and other volunteers.

Peter has consistently demonstrated his dedication and willingness to go above and beyond in his volunteer role with the Metro West Force Female Hockey Association.

Peter is always willing to go above and beyond to help in any way he can, regardless of whether the ask falls within his official duties or not. Peter's proactive approach to finding solutions, even for teams outside of Metro West, highlights his commitment and reliability.

At the conclusion of the 2023-24 season, Peter left his position with Metro West. His contributions have significantly impacted the women and girls' game in Nova Scotia and his absence will be deeply felt.

On behalf of everyone at Hockey Nova Scotia, we would like to congratulate Peter on winning our 2024 Female Council Award of Merit.
